TWO
the black fades away I wake up surrounded by hoses and cords and beeping noises. Every inch of my body is screaming. I feel pain, as if my skin is on fire. I slowly look down at my body and see bandages and can hardly move due to the pain searing through my body. I slowly turn and realize the faceless man is standing over me. As if paralyzed I can’t move and all I hear is this isn’t your time this isn’t your battle. You must stop now before you ruin all that has become of this pathetic world. Trying to grunt a fuck you … I somehow managed to yell. A scream which I have never heard from my own mouth. This faceless man feeling nothing but terror and sickness pouring from him. Trying to reconcile that this is more than a man… maybe far less than a man.? He is something not of this world … yet in that scream he is gone.
I see a young woman come in as if nothing has happened. I watch her as she checks these monitors and touches my arm lightly and truly in her touch, I feel comforted. As she removed her hand I groaned and heard her yell for help he was awake!
Slowly disconnected from all the monitors and hoses. The slow process of pealing and replacing all my bandages. Searing pain, all over my body almost taking me back to unconsciousness. I hear just stay still stay calm everything will be okay.
I try to sit up and feel a hand hold me down. Yet very gently it was forceful, yet a feeling of care and what may happen if I move too quickly. As I blink my eyes and adjust in the bed my pain increases, and I succumb once again to the dark.
What seemed a second, I awake, no longer feeling pain, but replaced by dread and doubt. I try and figure out where I am, yet I cannot make out anything around me. I hear light drips of water. Smells of dampness and decay add to the fear growing in me. I was laying on my back as I sat up and try to see my surroundings. Far from my perception I see lights flicker but still am very lightheaded and wondering again I must be dreaming.
In an instant I am jerked awake.  I realized as I lay there trying to figure what the hell is happening; I had my hand not on the ground, but my damn walking stick and I was instantly aware. I see. No, it was so dark I could not see. Yet I felt everything around me. Walls, beams, tools, boxes all around me. I could feel the vibrations around me rather than seeing my mind was showing me a world my eyes could not process. In that feeling I could see. Like a bat hunting an insect in the night I saw all around me
Surrounded, for just a moment I thought there were people encompassing me. Humans maybe? As I adjusted and really tried to understand. I saw how off these beings were. I say beings because my mind has no way of describing how strange and absurd what I was taking in was even possible.
I tried to make sense and slowly realized nothing that was around me was right. I was not safe. Nothing that was happening made sense. Yet with the staff in my hand seemingly giving some strength I never have felt.  The foresight to stay calm, I realized I need to go now…  looking quickly over my body realizing I no longer was hurt. Hadn’t I just been in the hospital?  Wasn’t I burnt and cut? No pain no clue how or why I am here. Before I knew it I was on my feet running. These creatures falling on me coming after me… chasing me…
Scratching sounds like your nails on a chalk board. Clunking like hooves on the concrete. Grunting groaning howling and cry’s that would give you shills down your spine. yet I ran as if my life depends on it. They can from all sides I had nowhere to go. That small glimmer of light that I saw was all I thought would get me out of this hell.
I got closer and realized it was a large door. However, it was shut and saw a large chain that was keeping me locked in with these monsters. My body told me to stop, but my mind told me to not stop keep going. Just as I reached the door, I yelled MOVEEEE!!! And like a battering ram out of my chest flew an unforeseen energy. Smashing the huge garage door and blasting the massive door from it hinges into splinters. I was in the rainy night sky. Breathing heavy still in a sprint I looked up and once again froze.
What I have felt and saw in this terrible warehouse, I was faced with a sight that made me want to run back in and face those things chasing me.
Before me stood a monster. Took my senses to make out what I was seeing. It was 20 feet long and stood almost 13 feet high. Had hair covering all his body and drool was dripping from his frothy mouth. With teeth the size of daggers and a roar that could crumble a mountain. I stood and stared and as I turned to go the other way I dropped because the percussion that hit my heart and chest from his roar was followed by the unmistakable sound of gunfire.
Over my head was hell fire… boom boom boom.. louder than anything I have ever heard. As I tried to gather myself and realized I was not dead. Laying on my back I tilted my head towards the warehouse and before I knew what was happening, I only saw the whole building collapsing hearing cries of pain and anguish. Noises that I have never heard on this mortal plane. Crashing and burning, fire and chaos flying over me I curled into a ball and prayed.
In a jolt I was yanked by my ankle and carried away not knowing what the hell is going on not a clue if this reality.
